A Strong History . . .
Macedonia Baptist Church was established 0n September 7th 1886 just twenty-one years after the American Civil War. Mr. S.C. Darden donated the land which Macedonia Baptist Church sits on to the Missionary Baptist Denomination. According to verbal tradition, the first church building was built in 1887 by the donations ($397.30) and hard work of the community, which came to be known as the Macedonia community. God has had His hand upon His church and blessed the ministry of Macedonia Baptist Church. In her history she has had 27 pastors including the current pastor and has grown from 23 members in 1887 to just under 800 in 2009.
A Bright Future . . .
It is good to look back with appreciation, but we must also look ahead with anticipation. God continues to do great things through Macedonia Baptist Church. Our desire is for “His Message” to be “Our Mission.” The family of Macedonia is growing and the ministry of Macedonia is expanding. The ministry of Macedonia actively reaches out to our community while also seeking to share the gospel around the world. Last year God allowed us to baptize fifty new believers here at home and thirteen overseas. In addition He enabled us to share the gospel in two countries (Nigeria and Philippines) where over 7,000 people came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Our prayer is that this is only the beginning of the wonderful things God has in store.
